Publishing and playing
How to preview a draft, publish a version, share the link, and what the reader on the other end sees.
Two things leave the editor. A preview, which nobody else can see and which saves nothing. And a published version, which is compiled, frozen, numbered, and served at a share link to anyone who has the URL.
Drafts are loose on purpose. You can leave a scene half wired while you write. Publishing is the strict pass: the compiler refuses a story that can strand a reader on a scene with nowhere to go and no ending named. When it refuses, it lists the problems and each one jumps you to the beat.
Preview
Play the draft from the scene you have open, with variable overrides.
Publish and versions
Minting a version, what it pins, retention, rollback, and the bundle download.
Share links
The unlisted URL, rotating it, taking a story offline, pinning a version, and the mature gate.
Showcase
How a published story gets listed on the Narratomi showcase page.
Player guide
Written for readers: controls, saves, settings, skip and auto advance.
The player guide is the only page here aimed at someone who has never opened the editor. Send it alongside your link.
